This route follows the camino forestal from Albunuelas towards the Padul - Almunecar road. Before reaching the road follow a track to the right towards Herrero, the highest point in the Sierra Albunuelas at 1503 metres. The ascent is a relentless climb of 2 hours but worth it for the descent - from the summit the track descends on the north side across undulating open mountainside with great views of the Sierra nevada and eventually reaches the Cozvijar-Albunuelas road. Follow the road back to Albunuelas.
